Keyboard, controller and touch controls
Friday Fighters works with a keyboard, an Xbox or PlayStation controller, most other USB and Bluetooth gamepads, and touch screens. These are the default buttons. You can rebind every action for both players in Settings, and the in-game move list always shows your current bindings.

Touch screens
On phones and tablets, an on-screen stick on the left moves your fighter. The button pad on the right has light and heavy punch (LP, HP), light and heavy kick (LK, HK), Special (SP), Super 1 and Super 2 (S1, S2) and Sidekick (AST). A separate ULTRA button presses both Supers at once and pulses blue when an Ultra or finisher is ready. Start, Block and Taunt sit along the bottom of the screen in landscape. You can turn the touch controls on or off in Settings.
The game plays best with the phone held sideways. If your phone stays in portrait, choose PLAY ANYWAY. Some in-app browsers, such as Instagram's and TikTok's, lock rotation, so open the game in your regular browser instead.
Controller tips
- Plug in or pair the controller, then press any button so the browser detects it.
- Settings shows the detected controller and a button diagram. You can switch the button labels between Xbox and PlayStation styles there.
- For the Ultra, the game gives the two triggers a short moment to meet, so you don't have to press them at exactly the same instant.
